Surfrider beach gets rave reviews from world champion surfer Joel Tudor on Surfline today, despite local criticism regarding the Malibu Lagoon Restoration's effect on the legendary wave spot.
Tudor cited perfect sediment contours and producing optimum shaped waves!
Joel's quote:
"There
was more sand than I've seen in the last 15 years," said longtime
Malibu visitor Joel Tudor about the recent Malibu Lagoon restoration,
which saw the beach open back up on Friday. "The wave was exactly the same and there was more beach. Wednesday and Thursday evening were pretty amazing -- the sand, the interval and the swell direction was great."

Well so much for the wave getting Ruined. I remember asking Nece Mills who was the CEO of the Surfers Coalition when she was holding a sign declaring the Restoration would destroy the World Famous Wave at Surfrider. I asked her specifically how that would occur. She studdered and studdered and then had to admit she did not know why. She just said that is what she was told !
